International Sports Week – Girls in Sport Day
International Sports Week – Girls in Sport Day
As part of International Sports Week, our girls enjoyed a fantastic Girls in Sport Day, giving them the opportunity to get involved in rugby and football through fun, engaging coaching sessions.
During the morning, we welcomed Hannah from Warrington Wolves, who already works with our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils through weekly rugby coaching sessions. As part of International Sports Week, Hannah delivered a special rugby skills and training session for our girls, giving them the opportunity to develop their passing, movement, teamwork and game skills.
The girls enjoyed building their confidence, trying new challenges and developing their understanding of the sport in a fun environment. It was fantastic to see the girls getting involved, showing enthusiasm and enjoying the opportunity to take part in rugby.
In the afternoon, the girls took part in a football coaching session delivered by Hannah from Warrington Town Ladies Team. They developed a range of football skills, including dribbling and passing.
The aim of the day was to give our girls the opportunity to experience different sports, develop new skills and show that rugby and football are sports for everyone. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the day.
While the girls were taking part in their coaching sessions, the boys enjoyed a variety of class-based sporting activities.
A huge thank you to Hannah from Warrington Wolves and Hannah from Warrington Town Ladies Team for giving up their time to inspire our pupils and deliver such enjoyable sessions, especially on such a warm day.
Well done to all of our girls for their fantastic effort and positive attitudes. We hope this experience has encouraged them to continue enjoying sport and taking part in new opportunities.
