Year 3 Egyptian Art

Year 3 Art – Egyptian Scrolls
The children in Year 3 have been enjoying creating their own Egyptian scrolls in Art. Last week, they experimented with making their own paper using an ancient Egyptian technique, layering materials to create a textured base similar to papyrus. This helped them understand how early writing materials were made and gave them a hands-on experience of ancient craftsmanship.
This week, the children have begun designing and decorating their scrolls. They have either chosen to create artwork about themselves or to focus on aspects of ancient Egyptian culture they have been learning about, such as gods and goddesses, hieroglyphics, pyramids, and daily life in Ancient Egypt. They have used a range of drawing and colouring techniques to bring their ideas to life.
The children have shown great creativity, care, and imagination throughout the project, as well as a growing understanding of historical art forms and their significance.
Well done Year 3 for your fantastic effort and creativity, these look amazing!
