Year 4 Showcase Assembly 2026

Year 4 Celebrate Their Learning with a Fantastic Showcase Assembly
Year 4 pupils put on a fantastic showcase assembly, sharing their learning about rivers with parents, grandparents and carers. The assembly celebrated the children’s hard work and enthusiasm as they proudly presented what they had been learning in class following their recent trip to Cuerden Valley Park.
As part of their geography topic, the pupils have been exploring the features and structure of rivers both in the classroom and during their educational visit. The trip to Cuerden Valley gave the children the opportunity to see many of the features they had been learning about first-hand and helped bring their learning into the assembly.
The children confidently shared their knowledge, explaining how rivers are formed, the different stages of a river’s journey and the ways in which rivers shape the landscape and support wildlife.
They also shared their wonderful projects that they had completed at home. These included a variety of creative models, posters and informative pieces of work which demonstrated the effort and thought that had gone into their learning.
One of the highlights of the assembly was a performance of a water cycle song with actions.
Following the assembly, parents were invited into the Year 4 classroom to look at the children’s work, giving them the opportunity to see the learning that takes place in the classroom and celebrate the children’s achievements.
The assembly was a great success and we are very proud of all the pupils. Well done Year 4.
