Year 3 Trip to Manchester Museum

Year 3 Trip to Manchester Museum
Year 3 had a fun-packed and exciting day at Manchester Museum.
Their adventure began the moment they arrived, as they were greeted by the incredible fossil skeleton of a mammoth. They then explored the Variety of Life gallery, where they saw a wide range of taxi-dermied animals — from magnificent polar bears, tigers, anacondas, and great apes, all the way down to smaller creatures like mice, rats, and toads.
Next, they visited the fossil gallery, looking at fossils that were thousands of years old. After all that exploring, it was time for a well-earned lunch break.
In the afternoon, they headed to the vivarium where they discovered a host of fascinating creatures. The children loved the colourful poison dart frogs, curious chameleons, and lively geckos.
The dinosaur section was a definite highlight. The towering reconstruction of the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex made a big impression.
To round off the day, Year 3 took part in an engaging Egyptian workshop, becoming detectives as they investigated ancient artefacts. They then explored the Egypt gallery, where they saw a real mummified lady, her beautifully decorated sarcophagus, and ancient stone tablets inscribed with hieroglyphs.
Year 3 behaved exceptionally well and were a credit to the school. Well done Year 3!
