Reception Explore the Colours of Autumn

Reception have been exploring the changes that autumn brings by taking a closer look at the beautiful leaves found around us.

The children enjoyed collecting and examining autumn leaves, noticing the different colours, shapes and patterns. They then got creative in the classroom, using paint to explore colour mixing and discover how different colours can be combined to create new autumn shades.

Using the leaves they had collected, the children experimented with printing, applying paint to the leaves and pressing them onto paper to create their own autumn-inspired artwork. They loved seeing the different patterns and textures appear and noticing how each leaf made a unique print.

It has been a lovely opportunity for the children to develop their creative skills, explore colour and texture, and learn more about the seasonal changes happening all around them. Well done Reception!
