Reception Literacy Learning

Reception Literacy Learning
In Literacy, Reception have been reading the story Somebody Swallowed Stanley. The story is about a plastic bag called Stanley that is mistaken for food and swallowed by different animals in the ocean. Through the story, the children have been learning about the importance of looking after the environment and keeping animals safe from litter.
To help put their learning into action, Reception visited Willow Wood and took part in a litter pick. The children worked hard to collect rubbish and help keep the area clean for the animals that live there and visit the woodland.
The children had some fantastic discussions about why litter can be harmful to wildlife and how everyone can play a part in protecting the environment. They were excellent role models and showed great care for the world around them.
Well done, Reception, for helping to make a difference and keeping Willow Wood a safer place for wildlife!
